Entering the Stage

Concept

In the previous section, you looked at the complex nature of sustainability, in which various interrelated aspects play a role. The United Nations has distilled this complexity into 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which encompass the three main pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic development.

Each of us has a role to play in promoting sustainability, guided by our own passions, interests and spheres of influence. What drives you to make a difference? Which aspects of sustainability appeal to you most, and which may not be your primary concern?

Creating your personal SDG profile – a reflection of your own SDG type – can help you discover where your strengths and interests lie on the path to sustainability. Are you ready to discover your journey?
